Youth Sports Grants for Nonprofits

Youth Sports Grants for Nonprofits are awarded by some Foundations and Corporate organizations to support some nonprofits working with youth and kids in the area of sports.

Physical activity is critical to youth development- intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially. There is need to increase youth participation in sports, play and outdoor recreation.

Nonprofit organizations and other institutions are struggling to implement strong sports program but it takes funding to ensure the success of youth sports.

The youth sports grants for Nonprofits would be able to provide financial assistance for your nonprofit to execute your proposed youth sports programs if selected by the funders.

The following are some of the funders providing youth sports grants to nonprofit organizations. They include;

1. DICK’S SPORTS MATTER PROGRAM FOR YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS

Dick’s Sporting Goods through its Sports Matter program, supports youth athletic programs in communities across the country. Must be one of these sports (some flexibility):Archery, Boxing, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Cheerleading, Cricket, Cross-Country, Curling, Cycling, Dance Team, Distance Running, Diving, Equestrian, Fencing, Field Hockey, Fishing, Flag Football, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Hockey, Kayaking, Lacrosse, Martial Arts/ Kung Fu, Mixed Martial Arts, Mountain Biking, Mountain Climbing, Netball, Pickleball, Polo, Racquet Sports, Rowing, Rugby, Sailing, Skating, Skiing / Snowboarding, Soccer, Softball, Squash, Swimming, T-Ball, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track and Field, Triathlon, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, Water Polo, Weight Lifting, Wrestling.

2. NIKE’S COMMUNITY IMPACT FUND

The NIKE Community Impact Fund (NCIF) is an employee-led grant-making program. NCIF supports organizations that create active communities and provide access to play and sport.

U.S. community organizations can apply for funding during the January through March application period (announced through the NIKE, Inc. Newsroom). Community organizations in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Japan can apply through the King Baudouin Foundation and Japan NPO Center.

3.DANIELS FUND FOR YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAM

The Daniels fund is a charitable foundation founded by Bill Daniels, focusing on the people of Coloarado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. One of the funding areas is Youth Sports. To learn more about their grant program, click here.

4. HERITAGE FUND

AEI is partnering  with Heritage fund to provide financial assistance to area youth to participate in athletic and fitness program. Youth, parents, clubs, teams and organizations are eligible to apply for grants to support youth ages 18 and under who reside in Bartholomew and surrounding counties. Grants will include assistance for but not limited to lessons, clinics, travel. Equipment, program fees, dues, etc. To apply, click here.

5. THE LEWIS SPORTS FOUNDATION (LSF)

The Lewis Sports Foundation (LSF) grant program is designed to promote youth education, physical activity and sport in Minnesota and nationwide. The program was developed to support coaches, administrators, groups, teams, organizations or fund services. The goal is to alleviate the financial burdens associated with participating in or managing physical activity and sport. Grant distributions range from $100-$1,000.

6. PLAY WELL-PLAY SAFE YOUTH SPORTS GRANTS

Play Well – Play Safe’s mission is to bring communities together through sport by helping kids of all backgrounds and incomes play well. With your help, we can continue to make an impact on the lives of young athletes in our communities.  We provide individual grants , organization grants and scholarships to kids in the Salt Lake Valley who need financial assistance to play the sport of their choice. The Individual grants and scholarships can be used for participation for sports, or to procure safety equipment, for team fees or memberships, injury prevention, treatment and other costs.

7. NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE FOUNDATION

National Football League Foundation  provides funding to support youth football, healthy safety for athletics and community grant programs. Some of their grant programs include; Player matching Youth & High School Football grants, NFL  Club Community Grants, NFL High School Football Coach of the Week, Youth Football Camp Grants, Pro Bowl Community Grants, and NFL Yet Grant Programs

8. INDIANA COLTS YOUTH AND HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GRANTS

Indiana Colts Youth and High School Football Grants offers Indiana Youth and High School Football programs the opportunity to request necessary funding up to $2,500 for projects focusing on health, safety, participation and inclusion. This support helps ensure that youth and high school football players have the equipment and resources they need to play the game safely.
